我遇见一个来自古国的旅客,//客自海外归,曾见沙漠古国
I met a traveller from an antique land
他说:有两只断落的巨大石腿站在沙漠中……// 有石像半毁,唯余巨腿
Who said: `Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
附近还半埋着一块破碎的石雕的脸;// 蹲立沙砾间。像头旁落,
Stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand,
他那绉眉,那瘪唇,那威严中的轻蔑和冷漠,// 半遭沙埋,但人面依然可畏,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
在表明雕刻家很懂得那// 那冷笑,那发号施令的高傲,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
迄今还留在这岩石上的情欲和愿望,// 足见雕匠看透了主人的心,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
虽然早死了刻绘的手,原型的心;// 才把那石头刻得神情唯肖,
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
灰烬。// 而刻像的手和像主的心早成灰烬。
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed.
在那石座上,还有这样的铭记://像座上大字在目:
And on the pedestal these words appear --
“我是奥西曼德斯,众王之王。// “吾乃万王之王是也,
"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
强悍者呵,谁能和我的业绩相比!”// 盖世功业,敢叫天公折服!”
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
这就是一切了,再也没有其他。// 此外无一物,但见废墟周围,
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
在这巨大的荒墟四周,无边无际,// 寂寞平沙空莽莽,
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
只见一片荒凉而寂寥的平沙。// 伸向荒凉的四方。
The lone and level sands stretch far away.'
